Ever since Dodge announced the ā€œLast Callā€ models for the current generation of the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger models, consumers have been clamoring to get their hands on one of the last gasoline-powered Dodge vehicles available. Ending the ā€œLast Callā€ lineup with the one and only Dodge SRT Demon, specifically the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, the Challenger and Charger had their fair share of models. The older brother of the two, 2023 marks the last model year for a gasoline-powered Dodge Charger. Check out the specs below.

This year, the 2023 Dodge Charger comes in seven flavors ā€“ SXT with rear-wheel drive (RWD), GT RWD, R/T, Scat Pack, Scat Pack Widebody, SRT Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak, and SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak. The Jailbreak models are some of the most customizable Dodge models the automaker will ever produce, able to get just about any feature a consumer may wish to add. The standard engine on the SXT and GT is a 3.6-liter V6 engine, optimized with variable valve timing (VVT) for added performance, able to generate 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque on the SXT, 300 horsepower and 264lb-ft of torque on the GT. Powering the R/T is a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine, optimized with VVT and a Multi-Displacement System (MDS) and able to deliver 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque.

The 2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody are powered by a 6.4-liter V8 SRT HEMI engine with MDS, able to produce 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Going up a level, the SRT Hellcat Widebody is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 SRT engine, generating 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, regardless of Jailbreak features. Lastly, the almighty SRT Hellcat Redeye is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 supercharged high-output engine, capable of generating 797 horsepower and 707 lb.-ft. of torque.

Engineering

All trims have the power transferred via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Despite the SXT and GT having different power outputs, they share the same fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. The 2023 Dodge Charger R/T has a fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, followed by both Scat Pack models having a fuel economy of 15/24 mpg city/highway. Both SRT Hellcat models also share the same fuel economy of 12 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.

Exterior Features

Aside from the base Charger SXT, all models come with heated exterior mirrors, but many features are available in packages and add-ons, such as mirrors with memory and a blind-spot indicators. All trims come with automatic headlamps and bi-function LED projector headlamps, acoustic front door glass and on the windshield, solar control glass, a functional hood scoop to introduce more air into the combustion chamber (not on the base SXT), dual bright exhaust tops, and a ā€œLast Callā€ plaque, despite not being a ā€œLast Callā€ model. The SXT trim may come standard with 17-inch wheels, but 20-inch wheels in a variety of designs and finishes are available, standard on the rest of the lineup.

Interior Features

The standard for seat trimming is cloth, but consumers can find Nappa and Alcantara leather seating available in the Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody trims, Alcantara available in the SRT Hellcat trims, or Laguna leather standard in the SRT Hellcat trims. For complete comfort, all trims come with an 8-way power-adjustable driverā€™s seat with 2-way power adjustable lumbar support, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, the ability to add a sunroof (not on the SRT Hellcat Widebody), and a 60/40 split-folding rear bench. Heated front seats are available to add for the SXT, GT, and R/T trims, standard on the rest. Ventilated front seats can be added to the GT, R/T, and Scat Pack trims, standard on the SRT Hellcat trims. Heated second-row seats are also standard on the SRT Hellcat trims.

Opting to give every trim a top-notch setup, Uconnect 4C on an 8.4-inch touchscreen is the lineup standard, with the option to add navigation. Lineup standards also include Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, a 4G LTE Wi-FI hotspot, SiriusXM Radio, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and HD Radio. Surround sound can be added to all trims past the GT trim. A six-speaker premium sound system is also standard, but past the GT trim, consumers can opt-in for the Harman Kardon audio group, switching out the standard sound system for a 19-speaker Harman KardonĀ® GreenEdgeĀ® sound system.

Safety Features and Warranty

All 2023 Dodge Charger models come with advanced multistage front airbags, supplemental side-mounted front and side-curtain airbags, active head restraints, traction and stability control systems, a ParkView rear back up camera, a ParkSense rear park assist system, keyless entry or keyless enter ā€˜n go, a security alarm, and a Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System. Select trims may also come with advancesd safety systems, including like full-speed forward-collision warning plus, blind-spot and cross-path detection, and lane departure warning plus, blind-spot and cross-path detection, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go.

All 2023 Dodge Charger models are covered by a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through coverage for five years or 100,000 miles.
