Six trims make up the 2022 Jeep Compass lineup – Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Limited, Trailhawk, and High Altitude. The Latitude Lux is new, with a new level of comfort and luxury, but comes with the same engine as the rest of the lineup – a 2.4-liter Multi-Air engine with start and stop technology to turn off the engine when idling to conserve fuel. This engine is capable of generating up to 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.
Driving and Handling
For the 2022 Compass, the Sport and Latitude come with front-wheel drive, but the rest of the lineup comes with a 4×4 drivetrain. Likewise, the first two trims in the lineup come with a six-speed automatic transmission, and those trims with a 4×4 come equipped with a nine-speed transmission and the Jeep Selec-Terrain System. If driving a Jeep Compass with FWD, the fuel economy is 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, with the fuel economy a 4×4 getting 22/30 mpg in the city/highway.
