Shortly after muscle car automaker Dodge announced eMuscle, it went on to release the first electrified Dodge model of this century. Called the Dodge Hornet, the nameplate is available as an all-gasoline model and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). One of the main models of the lineup, expect the Dodge Hornet to stick around for future years. There is little new for 2025, with a huge plus for new Dodge Hornet owners.

Powertrain

As mentioned, there are two kinds of powertrains for the Dodge Hornet. A total of four trims, the GT and GT Plus are the gasoline-powered models, followed by the R/T and R/T Plus plug-in hybrid variants. The Dodge Hornet GT and GT Plus trims come equipped with a 2.0L Hurricane4 Turbo engine, able to generate 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The R/T and R/T Plus are powered by a 1.3-liter I4 Turbo PHEV engine, able to generate 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.

Style

No mention of anything new for the exterior of the Dodge Hornet. Every 2024 Dodge Hornet comes with power, heated exterior mirrors; an automatic dusk sensor for automatic high beams and headlamp control; LED tail lamps; an upper and lower mesh grill; rain-sensitive windshield wipers; privacy glass; and an LED license plate. If looking for a power liftgate, consumers can find those on Plus trims. Inside, the basic GT and R/T have a cloth/leatherette combination as the upholstery, but can upgrade to black Alcantara with red accents or red leather. As for the GT Plus and R/T Plus come with black leather as the standard. New for 2025, steering wheel paddle shifters have been made available for the Dodge Hornet GT and GT Plus as part of the Track Pack option.

Tech

Entertainment is pretty nice for the first electrified Dodge model. Standard across the lineup is Uconnect 5 on a 10.23-inch touchscreen, capable of Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto functionality, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot with trial included, and the new Dodge Connect service. Dodge is one of the first Stellantis brands to add connected services to enhance the consumer experience. Plus trims add hands-free phone and audio controls, HD Radio, and integrated voice command.

Advanced safety features also pop up as standard. Every trim of the 2025 Dodge Hornet should come with forward-collision emergency braking for cyclists and pedestrians, adaptive speed control, blind spot and cross-path detection, full-speed forward-collision warning plus, lane keep assist, and a ParkSense rear park-assist system with rear back-up camera. Keeping things running, all Dodge vehicles are covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain.

The special plus for the 2025 Dodge Hornet gives consumers the chance to really master the power of a PHEV behind the steering wheel. All new Dodge Hornet owners qualify for an optional one-day session at Radford Racing School, the official high-performance driving school of Dodge//SRT. This can include several courses, such as drag racing, a driving school for learning new skills, and more.
