What’s New for the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Off-road automaker Jeep keeps going strong, slowly unleashing plug-in hybrid variants of its legendary lineup. Simultaneously, the brand continues to push its gasoline-engine models while downsizing to make some room. For the 2024 model year, the Jeep Grand Cherokee returns with only four trims. New standard 18-inch polished / painted aluminum wheels. That’s it. That, and the new trim lineup – Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit.
Powertrain
The standard engine for the 2024 Grand Cherokee is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, able to generate 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Rated for a towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee an estimated class-leading driving range of more than 500 miles. Built for going off-road, the class-leading Selec-Terrain traction management system offers five available terrain modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand). It also comes equipped with class-exclusive Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension with electronic semi-active damping delivers up to 10.9 inches of ground clearance and 24 inches of water fording. The Jeep Grand Cherokee also comes with three 4×4 systems available – Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II with rear electronic limited slip differential (ELSD).
Style
Built for aerodynamic performance and efficiency, and plenty of cargo spaciousness. The iconic seven-slot grille can be found on the front fascia. Designed with active grille shutters, front wheel spats, air curtains, hood aero flick, and lowered roof line. Standard on the Summit and Summit Reserve is a Gloss Black roof. Inside, consumers are greeted by a 10.1-inch digital cluster and touchscreen radio, as well as segment-first available 10.25-inch front passenger interactive display. Standard on all trim levels is a full suite of customizable LED lighting with daytime/nighttime settings. A five-color selection is available on Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve trim levels.
Tech
The fifth-generation Grand Cherokee comes available with Uconnect 5 – the most advanced Uconnect system ever. Able to offer up to three screens – a 10.1-inch and two 10.25-inch digital displays in the cabin offers a very intuitive user experience. Going a little autonomous, the 2024 Grand Cherokee offers co-pilot assistance with navigation, camera viewing, and visual entertainment on the passenger interactive display. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a full-color, 10-inch windshield Head-up Display (HUD), wireless charging pad, Amazon Alexa virtual assistant functionality, connectivity with two Bluetooth-enabled phones, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot able to connect up to eight devices, and more. Tunes can play through a state-of-the-art McIntosh audio system featuring 19 custom-designed speakers.
With an array of more than 110 advanced safety and security features available, consumers can feel completely safe. Aside from many basic features like airbags, there are also many advanced automatic safety features that come standard, including adaptive cruise control with stop and go, a ParkView rear backup camera, ParkSense rear park assist with stop, full-speed forward collision warning plus, lane-departure warning plus, blind spot and cross path detection, enhanced accident response system. The fifth generation of the Grand Cherokee has surely reached new heights while keeping things simple.
