The Dodge Durango Receives Improvements for 2019
The Dodge Durango is a well-known SUV in the Dodge automotive brand lineup. Powerful, affordable, and offering the perfect balance of performance, luxury, and fuel efficiency, the Durango enters it 2019 model year for another round of lovely options for consumers. Every trim has gotten a little something new for 2019 as well, which just shows us how the Dodge brand will always look for ways to improve on an already exceptional vehicle.
“The Durango is our three-row Charger of the SUV segment, delivering uncompromised utility, advanced technology, class-leading towing and driving range, confident driving dynamics and aggressive styling…Customer demand for utility vehicles in the United States has exploded over the past decade, and with America’s fastest, most powerful and most capable three-row SUVs in our garage and the new updates for the 2019 model year, Dodge Durango continues to separate itself from the competition with the performance and capability that our customers demand.” – Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge//SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America.
Six trims come on the Dodge Durango for the 2018 model year, seven if opting-in for all-wheel drive. Only five have been mentioned for improvements in the Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) media site, so Dodge may have snipped out the SXT Plus and Citadel Anodized Platinum for the 2019 model year. Cutting down the lineup is probably the smart move to offer consumers more for less, seeing as how all-wheel drive is now available for all Durango trims in 2019.
Beginning with the low-tier trim, the Durango SXT will now offer leather-upholstery for the 2019 model year, a feature not recently available, not even as an option. Going up a level to the 2019 Dodge Durango GT, the GT now gets a bit of an aggressive glare, sharing the performance front fascia and LED fog lamps found on R/T and SRT models, and an SRT-inspired performance hood with center air inlet duct and two heat extractors is available for additional style (no mention of functionality for added performance. The GT trim also offers a cloth upholstery option for animal lovers and 20-inch wheels in a Satin Carbon or Brass Monkey finish.
The Dodge Durango Citadel is here to stay, and has received its own improvement, including standard second-row captain’s chairs and the option to upgrade the stereo to a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio sound system. Small improvements also take place for the 2019 Durango R/T, with Sepia leather seats now an option for personal styling, and the additional option of the same Harman Kardon sound system. Lastly, the 2019 Dodge Durango SRT trim will now offer available red seat belts and lightweight, high-performance Brembo brakes with two-piece rotors for the brake system. The Harman Kardon audio system is an option for the SRT, and 20-inch wheels in a Matte Vapor or Brass Monkey finish are also available.
All 2019 Dodge Durango trims will be in available in eleven colors, with three new choices. In 2019, we’ll be seeing In-Violet, Octane Red, Redline Red, Reactor Blue (new – late availability), Destroyer Gray (new – late availability), F8 Green (new – late availability), Granite, Billet, DB Black, White Knuckle and Vice White available for some personal style. 2019 Dodge Durango vehicles will start hitting dealership lots in the fall of 2018, so be on the lookout.
