It’s been a few years since we’ve seen a blacked-out vehicle from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). The most recent vehicle to come close is the Dodge Charger Black Satin Package, complete with a hand-painted satin black hood, roof, decklid, and spoiler. That’s not a blacked-out vehicle, though. A blacked-out vehicle is a vehicle where everything, from the paint job to the decals, are painted black. With the Ram Heavy Duty Trucks always in need of a little more love with the Ram 1500 in the spotlight, the 2020 Ram HD Limited trim is getting a Black Edition added to its roster for a more sophisticated, monochromatic appearance.

Just like it sounds, the 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition comes with everything in black. This includes black accents throughout the body and on the grille with R-A-M letters, door handles, side-view trailer tow mirrors, tow hooks, headlight and taillight bezels, and black wheels. Single rear-wheel (SRW) models come standard with 20-inch black wheels whilst models with dual rear-wheel (DRW) configuration are outfitted with 17-inch black wheels with machined eyelets. Other configuration options available for the Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition are both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain configurations, and the truck came come with either the 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8, 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6, or 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 High Output engine under the hood. It’s all about choices.

“Ram is committed to continuous improvement and that includes looking for ways to deliver unique models with features and durability that continue to win over more and more buyers. Offering a customized look directly from the factory allows customers even more personalization and greater usability…The new Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition is another example of how we deliver the most luxurious pickups in the industry.” – Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand

Along with this blacked-out look for the 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Limited, Ram HD pickup trucks already offers plenty of comfort, luxury, innovation, and technology. With a towing capacity of 35,100 pounds and a payload capacity of 7,680 pounds, this power is matched by the tech inside, with the Uconnect 12-inch touchscreen featuring an industry-first, SiriusXM’s new “Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora”. Ram Trucks were the first vehicles to receive SiriusXM with 360L platform when the new generation of the Ram 1500 was released, and shortly after became the first brand to offer “Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora”, allowing consumers to create their own ad-free music stations based on the artists they listen to and personalize their own channel(s).

We know the next question everyone has. How much is the Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition going to cost? The 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition has a starting MSRP of $62,745 (plus destination fee). Already in production, these blacked-out Ram HD Limited trucks will start arriving at dealership lots during the third quarter of 2020 – that’s July – September, 2020, so very soon. Don’t miss out on what could be the last blacked-out Ram truck for some time. Who knows when this theme will return again.
