Ram 1500 Classic Discontinued

It’s been a long time since the new generation of the Ram 1500 was revealed. Back in 2018, the 2019 Ram 1500 made its debut during the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Now, six years later, the Ram 1500 has become more of a lifestyle truck, and not just a work truck. To stick true to its roots, however, Ram also kept the older generation of the Ram 1500 alive as the Ram 1500 Classic, for any consumers who were more interested in a work truck. Those same consumers may want to hurry and buy a new Ram 1500 Classic soon, because Ram Truck just announced the end of the Ram 1500 Classic, with the last one rolling off the assembly line of the Warren Truck Assembly Plant.
That’s right. The Ram 1500 Classic is no more. As the auto industry continues to grow and evolve, consumers want more than a vehicle that can take them to their destination, or perform a couple of errands. As people become more connected to digital services and mobile devices, the auto industry has to keep up to compete. That means being able to connect to those same services and devices so consumers can bring their digital life on the road. That also means making a vehicle that is more like a computer, able to interface with technology in a whole new way. A simple work truck isn’t made for that.
Still, the Ram Classic can offer more features than a regular old work truck. Starting at an MSRP of $38,705 (plus destination fee), the 2024 Ram 1500 Classic offers the powerful 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, able to generate 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. That equals a maximum payload capacity of 1810 pounds when properly equipped and a towing capacity of 10,520 pounds when properly equipped. Speaking of equipment, the 2024 Ram 1500 Classic only comes with two trims: the Tradesman and the Warlock. The former can come configured with Crew Cab a a 5’7” bed box or a 6’4” bed box, or a Quad Cab with a 6’4” bed box. The Warlock has the options of a Crew Cab with a 5’7” bed box or a Quad Cab with a 6’4” bed box.
Consumers may think this work truck offers no luxury, but that would be incorrect. Heated exterior mirrors, automatic headlamps, a rear fixed-window, and tinted glass windows and windshield are all standard features. A 40/20/40 split bench seat with Heavy-Duty Vinyl or Cloth may be the standard, but premium-cloth trimmed bucket seats for the driver and front passenger are available on the Warlock, plus a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic a/c, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power sunroof. To keep up with the competition, the Ram 1500 Classic still proved to be a worthy adversary amongst other work trucks.
The Ram 1500 Classic isn’t also without some modern entertainment. Uconnect 3 on a 5-inch touchscreen is still the standard, but consumers can always opt-in for Uconnect 5 on a 9.4-inch touchscreen, or Uconnect 4C with navigation on the Warlock trim. This will also add Bluetooth integrated voice command, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, HD Radio, and can opt-in for Ram Connected Services via Ram Connect and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Not a bad setup for a work truck.
Now is the time to buy a new Ram 1500 Classic. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Good thing you can still buy a new Ram 1500 Classic at Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
