Aventura Jeep Compass Technology Standards

Standards – everybody has them. Usually a “standard” acts as the baseline of what’s expected, such as the standard features in a car. So when a vehicle on the market is said to be “setting the standard” for its class, what people are really saying is “Car A” is so good, “Car B – Z” should meet the same standards Car A has set. Well , the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass offers a lot of advanced technology features and it is definitely setting a new standard for Jeep.

Infotainment Systems

Found on FCA vehicles, the popular infotainment and entertainment system is Uconnect. It’s easy-to-use, convenient, and offers many services, such as hands-free phone calls and/or texts with Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity options, navigation, and SiriusXM services (all based on the model and trim options). In the new 2017 Jeep Compass, consumers will be able to get fourth-generation Uconnect systems 5.0, 7.0, 8.4, or 8.4 NAV, each coming with a touchscreen of its respective size i.e. Uconnect 7.0 comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display.

As noted, depending on a vehicle model and trim options, certain features may become available. On the new Jeep Compass, many of the above features are available from 7.0 and up, with 5.0 being able to do the basics such as Bluetooth smartphone connectivity. Uconnect 7.0, 8.4, and 8.4 NAV come with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto – apps that can not only cover hands-free calling and texts, but offer access to music, use navigation services, and display one’s smartphone screen on the Uconnect screen for easier viewing and accessibility.

Navigation and Real-Time Updates

Although anyone with a smartphone can navigate their way from point A to point B, Uconnect 8.4 NAV on the new Jeep Compass can also provide 3D imagery of landmarks, terrain, and surroundings to give the driver a better sense of where they are versus a flat screen that takes forever to show where the desired location is, especially if it’s hidden away in a shopping plaza. It also delivers lane guidance, points out places of interest, and use voice commands to tell the system where to navigate to next. With SiriusXM Travel and Traffic, things get even better.

Wherever you’re driving, know the weather, local fuel prices, weekly sports games schedules, what movies are playing nearby, and more with SiriusXM Travel Link. It’s a perfect addition, especially if going on a road trip – it is spring break after all. If SiriusXM is activated, in conjunction with the navigation system, not only will drivers receive directions but also up-to-date traffic speed and flow information, along with accident information to assist drivers in routing around high-traffic areas – always helpful. Add in SiriusXM Guardian connected services, and be able to call for help in the event of a collision, assistance for minor problems like getting a flat tire or needing a tow, even a smartphone app to start your car from nearly anywhere. All of this is available on the 2017 Jeep Compass.

Entertainment and Other Systems

If infotainment convenience systems and navigation with traffic updates isn’t enough, the new Jeep Compass also comes with a pretty nice sound system. Available as the standard or an option on select models, drivers can listen to their favorite tunes on a nine-speaker BeatsAudio system, handcrafted by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. We’re talking practically surround sound here, with two 3.5-inch speakers in the dashboard, a 6×9-inch speaker in each door, a one-inch tweeter in both rear doors, and an 8-inch subwoofer.

Along with all of this technology, the 2017 Jeep Compass also comes with the usual basics with a twist. Every Compass comes with the standard driver information display that presents fuel gauge, engine temperature, odometer, speedometer, tire pressure, etc. The new Jeep Compass goes further, making the 3.5-inch display customizable so that the driver may view the speedometer, vehicle information, fuel economy, trip information, audio, stored messages, screen setup and settings, and turn-by-turn navigation (if the vehicle has a navigation system) at any time. There is also a 7-inch display available, also customizable, just bigger so drivers can have access to more vehicle information at once.

To think not all vehicles come with all these technological advancements is a little crazy, but some are just now starting to integrate smartphone music streaming services. It would seem the Jeep Compass really is setting a new standard, and you can get a new Jeep Compass just by checking out our inventory.
