New 2017 Ram Power Wagon Available This Fall
The are trucks, there are Ram trucks, and then there’s the almighty Ram Power Wagon, and this new Ram truck may as well have been born in a volcano. The new 2017 Ram Power Wagon is coming to town this fall and it looks and sounds epic.
Based off another tough truck, the Ram 1500 Rebel, the 2017 Power Wagon will take the lead as Ram’s largest and most capable off-roading pickup truck. We won’t blame you if after reading this article you want a brand new Ram and trade in your current truck. With aesthetics alone, this is going to be a monster.
The 2017 Ram Power Wagon has blacked-out headlights, an all new grille, a hood decal exclusive to the Power Wagon, and of course, it’s name is all over the truck. Now, some truck owners out there may be hoping a diesel option comes with this bad boy. Sorry to say, but there isn’t any room for a diesel engine with the truck’s powerful winch, capable of towing up to 12,000 pounds, which is installed behind the front bumper.
Yeah, you read that right. Twelve. Thousand. Pounds. Like other Ram 2500s out there, this new Ram truck runs on a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine that generates 410-horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. But the 2017 Power Wagon is something special. Did somebody say a new pair of wheels?
The Ram Power Wagon has those too — 17 inch wheels wrapped with 33-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires that rip dirt from its comfort zone. Did we mention this new Ram truck is tough? Oh yeah, it’s hardcore. Rod Romain, Ram vehicle integration manager, has publicly talked about the road tests Ram put the Power Wagon through to make sure it will provide a true off-road experience. “The durability we run them on is pretty rigorous,” Romain said. “We beat the crap out of them. It’s brutal.”
Is there really any other word to describe a truck with heavy-duty rear axles, Bilstein shocks, matte-black bumpers, and the ability to drive on any terrain? No, there isn’t.
Overall, when Ram brings out a new truck model, they live up to their name. The 2017 Ram Power Wagon will be coming to dealerships this fall, so mark your calendars for the new Ram truck that will tear through rocky terrain as well as the road.
