New 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Recon is Coming to Town
Are you a Jeep enthusiast? Love the open-road? Own a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, but feel like something’s missing? Well, say “hello” to the newest addition, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon.
The new 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon has even more off-road and improved 4×4 capabilities than the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. How is that even possible, it’s already one of the most capable off-road vehicles in the world? Well, along with a stronger front axle, enhanced rock rails, and heavy-duty cast differential covers, Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global, had this to say:
“With an array of beefed up off-road components, the new Rubicon Recon provides even more legendary Jeep Wrangler capability. … With unmatched capability and a unique appearance, Rubicon Recon is the perfect Wrangler for our most loyal, diehard off-road enthusiasts who love to tackle the most demanding trails.”
That’s quite the statement isn’t it? Let’s look at the Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition a little more. The enhanced off-road rock rails have been shortened to accommodate up to 35-inch tires for more off-road love. Plus, the Wrangler Rubicon 4×4 system, the Rock-Trac, also returns with the Recon edition. With a six-speed manual transmission (automatic available) and high/low crawl ratio, rock crawling is even easier than before.
There are also some new additions to help separate the Rubicon Recon from the rest of the lineup and Rubicon trims. A new low gloss black grille with low gloss granite crystal inserts have been installed, along with low gloss black off-road bumpers, an optional body-color fender flares, and a dual-vented Power Dome hood with a black-silhouette “Rubicon” decal slapped on. The Rubicon Recon also has a half-inch lift and rides on 17-inch low gloss granite crystal-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in 32-inch BF Goodrich KM off-road tires. Red tow hooks and a tougher exterior also provide the Rubicon Recon protection front and back.
The inside also gets the Recon treatment, with an 8-speaker system standard, black leather heated seats with “Rubicon” embroidered into the seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a Premium Sunrider soft top (hard top available), and more. All of this truly helps to make the new 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition stand out from the rest. Oh and one last bit of good news.
