Wow, this year’s solar eclipse was something else. Maybe it’s because the next solar eclipse to hit the U.S. won’t happen for another 20 years, but there was a huge turnout with people from all over the world traveling to see it. Automakers don’t always get a chance to ride the coattails of a celestial event to promote their own products, but Jeep® found a way to match the shadow of the solar eclipse. Going black with a blacked-out package has become a popular and long-living tradition amongst automakers, and Jeep just introduced its new NightHawk package for the new 2024 Jeep Gladiator.

“Today, many of us will witness a celestial marvel, and here, back on Earth, the Jeep brand is marking the occasion with the introduction of the 2024 Jeep Gladiator NightHawk…Built from the entry-level Sport model, the new NightHawk package adds both cosmetic and capability enhancements to the 2024 Jeep Gladiator Sport, including new, signature black exterior highlights, rugged all-terrain tires and Dana 44 front and rear axles.” – Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand – North America, April 8, 2024

The Jeep Gladiator is already known as the world’s most off-road capable midsize truck and still worthy of the name for its off-road prowess and capability. Built off of the original Jeep Wrangler, this pickup truck is the best of both worlds. Like all Jeep models, the Gladiator comes available with a Selec-Trac® 4×4 system that automatically switches between two and four-wheel drive to keep continuous traction in driving conditions that may include snow, ice, rain, or mud. Built for off-road adventure, the Gladiator also comes with select 4×4 systems, including a Command-Trac® part-time 4×4 system that offers a 2.72:1 low range for rock crawling and neutral for available flat towing, and a 4:1 Rock-Trac heavy-duty part-time 4×4 system that offers a 4:1 low-gear ratio that delivers a Best-in-Class 100:1 crawl ratio.

The new NightHawk package adds an assortment of equipment and $5,295 to the standard U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). The 2024 Jeep Gladiator NightHawk package is also available in all current exterior colors: Anvil (new for 2024), Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Silver Zynith, Hydro Blue, Bright White and black. The 2024 Jeep Gladiator NightHawk package adds 20-inch painted Gloss Black aluminum wheels, all-terrain tires, a body-color hardtop, rock rails, black bumper accents, body-color fender flares, deep tint sunscreen windows, and power heated mirrors. Engineering has also been upgraded with heavy-duty Dana 44 front and rear axles with 3.73:1 axle ratio, an anti-spin differential rear axle, automatic transmission, power windows and locks, and remote keyless entry.

Altogether, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator NightHawk carries a U.S. MSRP of $43,190. In order to make this model as rare as the solar eclipse, only 2,000 units have been made available to the entire North American market (U.S. and Canada).
