Jeep Launches New Marketing Campaign for Jurassic World Dominion
This summer, we’re finally getting some real scares in the movie theater. “Jurassic World Dominion”, “NOPE”, and although it was in the spring, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” kicked off the chills for the film industry this year. Who misses the real spooky movies that wasn’t all slasher and gore? Stuff that just freaks you out, like the old movies that relied on suspense and thrillers. That’s the tone “Jurassic World Dominion” is going for if the trailer is anything to go by, and the best way to ride this hype-train is with a media campaign. Summer is the time for automakers to start new multimedia marketing campaigns, and to commemorate the third installment of the modern Jurassic Park movies, the Jeep® brand and Universal Pictures with a silly commercial featuring the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and a CGI dinosaur.
“Almost 30 years ago, moviegoers saw Dr. Ian Malcom escape danger from dinosaurs in the original ‘Jurassic Park’ film while riding in the back seat of a 1992 Jeep Wrangler…We paid homage to that iconic scene in the Jeep brand’s 2018 Big Game commercial, which then featured the new Jeep Wrangler, as the next extension of our relationship with Universal Pictures. Here we are now in 2022, and we continue to see the evolution of the Jeep brand around the world with electric plug-ins, including the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe, which are quite literally charged for any adventure, this time with a four-legged passenger of a different kind riding along in the front seat.” – Olivier Francois, global chief marketing officer, Stellantis
Who hasn’t wanted a pet dinosaur before the obvious ramifications of such a beast came to mind? Sure, if we could keep it small like a puppy…with razor sharp claws and fans…yeah, no, it still doesn’t work. But that doesn’t stop this CGI dino-doggo from looking cute, apparently a Carnotaurus, and the commercial pokes fun at all the issues that could arise from raising a dinosaur. Luckily, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe has many ways to handle this, such as offering fresh air and a sense of adventure for those primal roots, and of course, plenty of cargo space for a doggy nap. The ad goes on to highlight how the new Wrangler 4xe can also provide a quiet drive with its electric-only mode, offering 22 miles of zero carbon emissions.
The new marketing campaign in the U.S. will include a 30-second broadcast spot, plus content across Jeep brand’s social media channels. This includes an extended one-minute version of the TV spot and behind-the-scenes footage for the making of the commercial. Raising awareness for the new film and the Wrangler 4xe, the Jeep global campaign will run in markets around the world, including in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific. For those really excited about the upcoming Jurassic film, Jeep Wave members can register to see the new film in select cities across the U.S and become a part of experiential events hosted by Jeep.
“Jurassic World Dominion” arrives in theaters June 10, 2022. Once the sense of adventure sets in, stop by Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for a new Jeep Wrangler 4xe.
