Jeep Grand Cherokee L Models On the Way
When people think “Jeep®”, the word “SUV” may not come to mind. An image of the Jeep Wrangler – definitely – but years ago, I wouldn’t have called a Wrangler an SUV. I didn’t know what to call it, but Jeep is known as the most successful brand with off-road SUVs, and the all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L pushes the brand to the top of the charts in the full-size SUV segment. For the first-time ever, the Jeep Grand Cherokee can seat up to six or seven, and still comes with the same off-road performance its predecessor is known for. Jeepers – the wait is over – the all-new 2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L is heading to dealership lots across the country right now!
That’s really all there is to say, no real news about this new, state-of-the-art SUV. Outfitted with Jeep 4×4 systems, such as Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II, and equipped with Quadra-Lift air suspension and Jeep signature Selec-Terrain traction management system, a little extra seating capacity doesn’t hinder the Jeep Grand Cherokee L at all. Still able to wear a Trail Rated badge, the Grand Cherokee L still upholds the brand’s legendary 4×4 capability. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L comes with two powertrain options; the standard is the all-aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, capable of generating 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, optimized with engine stop-start (ESS) technology for maximized fuel efficiency. Going up a level, consumers will find the award-winning 5.7-liter V8 engine, able to generate 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.
“When you set out to reimagine an SUV as beloved as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, building on its nearly 30-year legacy as an overachiever is paramount to every decision that is made…With that legacy guiding the Jeep team, the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is crafted to exceed expectations and do what no other SUV can do: deliver legendary Jeep 4×4 off-road capability blended with superior on-road manners. It is built on an all-new architecture and wrapped in a stunning new design that honors its iconic Jeep design heritage, while also extending to accommodate a third row to meet the growing needs of our Jeep customers who have asked for more space and functionality. The Grand Cherokee L truly stands out in its segment and continues to raise the bar in capability, performance and luxury, while also breaking new ground in versatility and functionality.” – Christian Meunier, Jeep Brand Chief Executive Officer
With its increased seating capacity, there is more room to enjoy the upscale and luxurious comfort features, like Alexa “Home to Car” functionality and the in-vehicle Alexa virtual assistant, and personalized music playlists with SiriusXM 360L platform and new Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora. Finally getting the all-new Uconnect 5 added to the Jeep lineup, consumers get to enjoy an even more intuitive infotainment system on an 8.4-inch or 10.1-inch digital touchscreen, depending on the options available. Uconnect 5 comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. Safety is also a plus, and the all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L comes standard with Full-Speed Collision Warning with Active Braking and Pedestrian/Cyclist Detection, Rear Cross Path detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Blind-spot Monitoring, a ParkView rear back-up camera, and ParkSense rear park assist sensors with stop.
