Jeep Enters 2024 Rebelle Rally for Fourth Consecutive Year

The Rebelle Rally is gearing up again, and returning to the competition is none other than Jeep and its team. Taking on sandy dunes and off-road terrain, what better model could Jeep offer than the Gladiator Mojave? Designed to handle desert plains, this is the perfect choice for the team. Although Rebelle Rally has been going on for nine years, this will be the fourth consecutive year Jeep has entered the race. We’re sure they’ll take home another award, having won the Overall and Bone Stock awards in two of the last three years.
A one-of-a-kind, the Rebelle Rally is the longest competitive women-only off-road rally in the United States. Spanning 1,500 miles through Nevada and California, teams take on the challenge of mountain and desert terrain over the course of a little more than a week. Kicking things off on October 10, 2024, in Mammoth Lakes, California, the Rebelle Rally lasts until October 19, 2024, in the Southern California desert. Unlike most rallies, this isn’t just about speed. It’s about precise driving and navigation to get through rocky terrain. The team is made up of a driver and a navigator – classic to Rebelle format – and makes use of maps, road books, and a compass to build a strategy to get around upcoming challenges.
Known as Team #129, Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit get behind the wheel of the Gladiator Mojave for the 2024 Rebelle Rally, having raced and won awards in the past. Both Rebelle Rally veterans, have competed in a combined 14 rallies, and three of those they were on the same team. It’s good to have a familiar face when facing the harsh weather and driving conditions of sandy dunes, and with Barlow’s experience, they’re bound to win another award this year. Based in Arizona, Barlow runs Barlow Adventures, a four-wheel-drive training organization that rents Jeep SUVs and offers guided trips throughout the southwestern United States. Petereit is a nurse who takes her vehicle off-roading as a hobby, but has plenty of experience navigating numerous trails in previous years.
“We’re honored to represent the Jeep brand once again…The rally is tougher than ever, but we don’t have to worry about capability in our Jeep Gladiator Mojave. We never hesitate to chase the toughest checkpoints and that’s a huge advantage. And this is seen repeatedly by how many Jeep SUVs are in the rally and on the podium.” – Barlow
As for the Desert Rated Gladiator Mojave, it has been developed to tackle five categories for driving through the mountains and desert: ride control and stability, traction, ground clearance, maneuverability and desert prowess. Anyone behind the wheel will want some stability as well as comfort, and the desert-tuned suspension will help with this. When it comes to rock crawling, a good ground clearance is essential, and the optimized suspension will help with this. Developed to handle sand, gravel and loose dirt, the Mojave will be able to keep traction strong in a number of scenarios. While navigating desert terrain and extreme angles, the Gladiator Mojave is nimble and responsive to the driver, offering a great connection and enhanced maneuverability. Finally, the “Mojave” moniker is the name given to models made for the desert, and the Gladiator Mojave has been prove that it can handle intense heat, coarse sand, loose gravel, and the intrusive dust that comes with desert environments.
We look forward to Jeep, Barlow, and Petereit bringing the Gladiator Mojave across the finish line for another medal. Follow along with us on Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram social media.
