Chrysler 200 Has Safety
The NHTSA has awarded the Chrysler 200 with a five-star overall safety rating. The NHTSA, or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, has high standards for motor vehicle and highway safety. Since 1970, the NHTSA has been a trusted name in rating vehicles on frontal collision with another vehicle, side impact with another vehicle, and side impact with a static or immovable object. The rating system is 1-5 stars, and the Chrysler 200 received 5 stars in all categories. It was also named a “Top Safety Pick +” by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (I.I.H.S.), another safety giant in the industry.
These safety ratings attest to Chrysler’s safety features and construction. The Chrysler 200 is fitted with an advanced airbag deployment system, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and sensor-fusion technology such as Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus and autonomous braking, both available options. In terms of body construction, more than 60 percent of the vehicle’s body structure is made of high-strength steel to absorb more of the impact in the event of a collision.
The 2017 Chrysler 200 has a starting MSRP at $22,115.
