Get the Most Out of Your SRT with this High Performance Driving School
Man, when driving an SRT vehicle, the adrenaline rush coursing through your veins and the power under the hood is unreal. It’s almost too much for some people to handle, especially if they’ve been driving horsepower-stunted vehicles their whole life. That’s why drivers who aren’t ready for all of the horsepower in their new SRT vehicle should spend a day at the all-new SRT High Performance Driving School.
SRT Racing School? What’s That?
The SRT High Performance Driving School is an one-day class that provides SRT owners and enthusiasts with several courses designed to teach drivers how to handle a SRT vehicle. A total of four driving modules take place in a single day and cover the following: accident avoidance; maintaining control in a skid; a cone avoidance course; and of course, driving on a proper race track. Best of all, attendees are put behind the wheel of a FCA-supplied SRT vehicle for each module. At the end of the day, they get to experience the full power of a SRT vehicle by riding along with a Bondurant Racing School Instructor doing some fast-paced laps around a race track.
Can Anyone Attend the School?
As long as you’re 18 years old, you can attend the school, whether or not you own a SRT vehicle. If you purchased or leased a US-market SRT vehicle with a VIN from 2015 – 2017 after April 1, 2015 then it’s a whole lot cheaper. With one of those, the driving school fee is waived for a year, giving the owner or lessee a total of 12 months from the purchase/lease date to cash in on a free day at the school. If unable to redeem this, then the regular price of $699 will apply.
Okay, What Vehicles Do I Get to Drive?
Ready for the pièce de résistance? Since attendees won’t be driving their own vehicle around the school, as mentioned, a FCA-supplied SRT vehicle is used for each module. They are as follows:
– Accident Avoidance: Ride around in a SRT 392 HEMI Challenger
– Skidding Car: Take control of a SRT 392 HEMI Charger
– Auto-Cross: Drive a SRT Hellcat through the cone-avoidance mini course
– Lead-and-Follow: Follow an instructor around a race track while driving a SRT Viper GT
– Ride alongs are performed in a SRT Hellcat. Maybe next year they’ll replace it with the Dodge SRT Demon.
