FCA news recap from Ram, Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler

]In recent weeks, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) brands and vehicles have received several awards, announced new social media campaigns and made news in the United States and overseas markets.

In case you haven’t been able to keep up with all of it, here are highlights from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram news and announcements from the last ten days.

Chrysler

The New Chrysler Minivan, the 2017 Pacifica, Continues to Impress

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, which was just introduced to dealerships across the United States this month not only offers consumers excellent fuel economy, but it also offers an intelligently designed interior. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, a new minivan, was named to AutoWards’ 10 Best Interiors List for 2016. Among the minivan’s notable interior features are a built-in vacuum cleaner, Stow ‘N Go Seats, a panoramic roof and upscale materials and a tasteful color palette.

Two New Campaigns will Feature the Chrysler Pacifica and Top-Notch Comedians

To promote and bring awareness to the Chrysler brand and new Chrysler Pacifica, Chrysler has initiated two campaigns. One campaign stars comedian and father, Jim Gaffigan in a slew of comedic ads that will be aired on TV, social media, print and digital platforms. Gaffigan will highlight the vehicle’s excellent levels of functionality, versatility, technology and safety while bringing audiences the usual witty presence of Gaffigan’s stand up.   

The second campaign is a partnership between Chrysler, NBCUniversal, Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment to launch the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica and “The Secret Life of Pets,” a new movie that will arrive to theatres July 8. The Pacifica will share the screen with Seth Meyers, the host of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and his dog, Frisbee.

Jeep

Good News Overseas in Two Asian Markets

Today (April 18) was the first day of production of Jeep Renegade vehicles at the new Jeep plant located in Guangzhou, China. Today’s launch of the Jeep Renegade production comes nearly seven months after the first Jeep Cherokee was produced in the Changsha plant also located in China last October. This news is a big leap forward and will hopefully increase the presence of Jeep’s in the Chinese SUV market.

Last Thursday (April 14) the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk became the first American-made and American-brand SUV to meet fuel-efficiency and emissions guidelines to quality for Japan’s Eco-Car tax incentive. The vehicle is equipped with 3.2-liter Pentastar V-6 gasoline engine that features fuel-saving Engine Stop-Start (ESS) technology. The tax break is worth ¥58,000 Yen, or $532 USD.

Dodge

Slimming down the Dart Line

Last Monday (April 11) Dodge announced that they will slim down the number of trims Dodge Dart trims from five to three variations. While doing so, the new Dart trims will have now have more distinct qualities for each trim and will also receive a price cut.

Ram

Awarded for Automotive Excellence in the Truck Segment

Ram was recently recognized for their excellence in engineering and design across their line of pickup trucks. Popular Mechanics determined that the Ram 1500, Ram 2500 and Ram 3500, had the best combination of technology, performance and value. That determination resulted in the entire 2016 Ram line up receiving the publication’s annual Automotive Excellence Awards in the truck segment.
