Dodge Power Dollars Hits 500 Million Horsepower Goal
Remember the “Dodge Power Dollars” program? This was a program Dodge started back in early August 2019, so not too long ago as of yet (October 2019). The automaker wanted to celebrate its success in the auto market by giving back to the consumers that make them so well-known and successful. The program was simple. Consumers could purchase any 2019 Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Durango, and Dodge was willing to match the horsepower output of the engine purchased at $10 per unit of horsepower. A little over two months, and Dodge has already blown past their goal of 500 million horsepower – just don’t get too excited, there’s no 500 million-horsepower engine out there. That’d be crazy…

The Dodge Challenger continues to grow in sales and the Dodge Charger saw its highest level of third-quarter 2019 sales in the past 13 years. If the growth continues, the Dodge Charger will be leading the U.S. large car segment for three years running in 2019. The Dodge Durango is also seeing its best calendar-year sales since the large boom it had in 1999 with a total of 189,840 units sold in America alone. After all this, Dodge wants to share the love with a little green.
As mentioned, Dodge was willing to match $10 per unit of horsepower that a Dodge vehicle could produce at max performance. If someone purchased a 2019 Dodge Challenger SXT powered by the famous Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine, able to generate 305 horsepower, Dodge had a cash allowance of $3050 in their name. That means $3050 automatically comes off the final bill. It also means if a consumer were to purchase the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, inspired by the original 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, powered by the Supercharged 6.2L Hellcat HEMI® Redeye, and able to produce 797 horsepower, then that’s a total of $7,970 in your pocket.
By the end of the year, the automaker Dodge had a single goal with his program – well, other than growing their consumer base and popularity. The initial goal was to payout 500 million horsepower by the end of the year. Well, check that one off the list.
Again, this cash allowance applies to the 2019 model year Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Durango. The cash allowance is also only available from dealer inventory until Jan. 2, 2020.
