Dodge Has Opened Orders for the New 50th Anniversary Edition Challenger
Attention all muscle car fans! Dodge is heating up this summer by releasing all-new options for the muscle car season. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Dodge Challenger, a new 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition will be putting some limited-edition touches on this new model, except this special edition won’t be limited in production. Unlike other limited and special editions released in previous years, at the moment, Dodge doesn’t plan to put a cap on this one any time soon. Dealerships are already able to take orders, with the vehicles scheduled to start arriving in Dodge//SRT dealerships in the autumn of 2020.
So, let’s talk about the details. What separates this 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition from all the other special and limited-edition models of the Dodge Challenger before it? Every day, the Dodge Challenger pushes the limits a little more with style, performance, and the true meaning of SRT, let alone what it means to be a GT car. Although some features may be available in some models, this selection of limited-edition 50th anniversary touches is one-of-a-kind.
Offered on the R/T, standard on R/T Scat Pack and R/T Scat Pack Widebody trims, every Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition comes with a Satin Black hand-painted hood; a black-wrapped roof and a black-wrapped decklid; the respective fender badges for each trim; a “Challenger 50th Anniversary” badge on the grille and spoiler in “Gold School” finish; illuminated Air Catcher headlamps with a “50” logo illuminated by LEDs; a Satin Black fuel door with heritage lettering that says “FUEL”, a Satin Back “DODGE” taillamp badge; and “Gold School” wheels are also featured on the Commemorative Edition, different for each trim. Consumers who order the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition on the R/T trim get 20-inch by 9-inch wheels, 20-inch by 9.5-inch wheels on Challenger R/T Scat Pack models, and get 20-inch by 11-inch wheels on the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody model. If looking to get 20-inch by 9.5-inch wheels on the R/T trim, consumers can do so with the Performance Plus Group.
The cabin interior of the Commemorative Edition has been tipped towards luxury with heated and ventilated Nappa leather and Alcantara suede performance seats with sepia accent stitching and a “50” logo embroidered into the seat backs; Alcantara door bolsters with sepia accent stitching; premium berber floor mats with an embroidered “50” logo. Some additions and touch ups have also been added to the instrument panel (IP) with white-faced instrument gauges with yellow accents, instrument panel badge with “Challenger50” logo, and sepia accent stitch on the IP, door panels and armrest, center console lid, seat faces and the leather, flat-bottom steering wheel. There is also a startup animation Electronic Vehicle Information Center screen showcasing 1970 Challenger.
Looking for a little personalization? The Challenger 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition, available on R/T – standard on R/T Scat Pack and R/T Scat Pack Widebody – is available with several paint job colors. This new special edition is available in Smoke Show (new), Granite, Indigo Blue, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Triple Nickel, and White Knuckle. Being an add-on, the suggested MSRP for the 50th Anniversary Edition is $4,995 for the Dodge Challenger R/T, $5,495 for the Challenger R/T Scat Pack, plus another $6,000 for the Widebody, adding up to $11,495 if adding on the Widebody Package to the R/T Scat Pack. When calculating the total, add those to the base price of each trim, and leave room for the destination fee.
