Dodge Extends Sponsorship of Radford Racing School

Does anyone remember those SRT Racing Schools? It was a novelty one-day crash course of learning how to handle an SRT vehicle – the very same Street and Racing Technology (SRT) vehicles Dodge is known for. Attendees would be able to ride around in an SRT 392 HEMI Challenger, SRT 392 HEMI Charger, SRT Hellcat, and an SRT Viper GT. Ride-alongs in the Dodge SRT Demon were also available at one time. Although the name of the Bondurant Racing School may have changed to Radford Racing School, Dodge still recognizes Radford as the Official High Performance Driving School of Dodge//SRT. Adding onto this, Dodge//SRT recently signed an agreement with the Radford Racing School to extend the automaker’s sponsorship.
“Dodge is in our DNA…There’s simply no better way to describe our relationship. Dodge is an icon of American performance with their line of SRT vehicles, and we couldn’t be more honored to showcase the capabilities of these cars every day on our track. Every student who takes one of our courses is simply blown away by the handling, power, and technology that’s engineered into every SRT vehicle. This is the best place on the planet to experience what these cars are made of, on our legendary racetrack and with our world-class team of instructors.” – Mike Kessler, Radford Racing School’s general manager
Dodge//SRT has been the official vehicle sponsor of Racing School since 2015, originally known as the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. The new agreement adds a lot of great vehicles to the program, more than 85 Dodge//SRT vehicles in fact, including the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, and Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. Price has gone up in recent years, currently $1099 for the SRT Experience and $1999 for the Drag Racing Class. Owners of new Dodge//SRT vehicles will have this fee waived, included in the purchase of the vehicle – this also qualifies lessees of Dodge//SRT vehicles leased within the last year and with a still usable VIN. Lessees also have one year to redeem the course for free.
The lineup of performance driving and racing courses are all conducted using Dodge vehicles and modules taught by a professional driver. These include: Performance Driving, Drag Racing, Advanced Road Racing, Teen Driving, and Special Operations programs. In the past, the aforementioned vehicles were used in courses geared towards Accident Avoidance (SRT 392 HEMI Challenger), how to handle a Skidding Car (SRT 392 HEMI Charger), an obstacle course Auto-Cross (SRT Hellcat), and a Lead-and-Follow race track (SRT Viper GT). Even if not planning to take the Dodge to the race track, this is a chance to learn from the pros how to get the most out of the Dodge//SRT experience.
Located in Chandler, Arizona, the Radford Racing School began operating these courses in 1968, and even today, is still the only purpose-built driver training facility for performance enthusiasts with the largest driver training center of the industry in the world. Along with Dodge//SRT courses, the school offers driving courses with more than 85 race-prepared vehicles, sedans, SUVs, and open wheel formula cars. There’s plenty of variety.
