Chrysler Pacifica Named “Best Minivan for Families” by the U.S. News & World Report

Not too long ago, minivan automaker Chrysler became a one-model lineup brand, and they were okay with that. The Chrysler Pacifica and its plug-in hybrid variant (Pacifica Hybrid) were enough. At a time, there was talk of a new Chrysler vehicle built on a Jeep® body platform, and after Dare Forward 2030, whispers of a new Chrysler BEV crossover were in the works. The Halcyon concept popped up, but it looks more like a sporty sedan than a family or passenger car. When it comes to family cars, the Pacifica will always be the reliable choice, winning awards every year. Most recently, the Chrysler Pacifica took home the title of “Best Minivan for Families” during the U.S. News & World Report 2024 Best Cars for Families Awards.
With more than 175 honors and industry accolades in the seven years the Pacifica has been in the market are more than enough proof that this minivan delivers. Time and again, the Pacifica has been named the “Best Minivan for Families” or something similar by many auto publications and websites over the years. However, this is the vehicle’s first award from U.S. News in the “Best Minivan for Families” category. That’s a surprise.
The Chrysler Pacifica earned this award for its family-friendly features and offering the most standard advanced safety features for the driver and passengers. In recent years, all-wheel drive (AWD) was added as an option for better driver control when driving on all kinds of terrain. Known for its Stow ‘n’ Go seating that doubles as a storage compartment, the Pacifica has always been a family-first vehicle. An available FamCAM interior camera is now offered, a camera that offers a bird’s-eye view of rear-facing child-seat occupants for watchful parents – or just to settle any sibling squabbles. The first automaker to offer available Amazon Fire TV integrated into the Uconnect Theater System, the Chrysler Pacifica has more ways to keep passengers entertained on long drives.
As for the Best Cars for Families award, the U.S. News & World Report has quite the criteria to consider when voting on a winner. Factors include quality, safety ratings, passenger and cargo space, and the consensus opinion of the automotive press. All of this data is combed over before giving a vehicle it’s each vehicle’s overall rating from the U.S. News Best Car Rankings. With the quick adaptation of consumer technology in automobiles, the availability of tech features such as in-car wireless internet, teen driver controls, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert and hands-free cargo doors are also given consideration when ranking a vehicle. The highest scoring vehicles earn an award for their respective category.
“The 2024 Best Cars for Families winners offer a number of safety features and a comfortable ride for all passengers, making them ideal for daily commutes or family adventures,” – Liz Opsitnik, executive editor, U.S. News.
