Isn’t it nice when automakers give back and help the community? During the initial waves of the Coronavirus pandemic, automakers stopped focusing on making cars and instead, manufactured things like face masks and gloves to help hospitals and those on the front line of the pandemic keep protected. Automakers continue to help those in their community from time-to-time, and a special project took place in June 2022 with Chrysler. The Chrysler brand teamed up with The Kelly Clarkson Show, Jay Leno, and BraunAbility to provide a long-serving Los Angeles Police Department Officer, Christian Arrue, and his family with a customized 2022 wheelchair-accessible Chrysler Pacifica.

The officer’s daughter has cerebral palsy and uses wheelchair to get around, so of course this would be a great gift for the family. The wheelchair-accessible Chrysler Pacifica celebrates BraunAbility’s 50th anniversary. If BraunAbility isn’t a household name, it’s the world’s leading manufacturer of mobility transportation solutions, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, wheelchair lifts and seating, storage, and securement products. Reaching 50 years in the business, it was founded by Ralph Braun, an entrepreneur who spent most of his life in a wheelchair.

Over the years, BraunAbility has become a company that is the most well-known and trusted name in the mobility industry. Able to return one’s independence is a great thing, and the wheelchair-accessible Chrysler Pacifica is the latest in a long line of accessible vehicles engineered between the world leader in mobility and Chrysler. With a partnership spanning over 45 years, this Chrysler Pacifica from BraunAbility is the most spacious wheelchair van in the industry.

Chrysler is no stranger to producing vehicles that have mobility solutions installed for great accessibility. Remember the 2022 Chrysler Voyager? Available now, the Chrysler Voyager comes with BraunAbility rear- and side-entry conversions, a wider entryway, and an enhanced ramp securement system. Packed with great standard features, like heated exterior mirrors, a rear window wiper/washer, splash guards in the front and bear, sliding doors, sunscreen glass, protective clear film, and running boards for the exterior. Inside the cabin, consumers will find third row Stow ‘n Go 60/40 bench seat, an automatic climate control system with three zones, and rear air-conditioning, all standard. A new clear air filtration system that filters 95% of air particulates, such as dust, smoke, droplets, and aerosols has also been installed. For tech, the all-new Uconnect 5 system comes on a 7-inch touchscreen, offering consumers the ability to connect two phones simultaneously with Bluetooth, use Amazon Alexa voice control, the Uconnect Market, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with voice recognition.

As mentioned above, BraunAbility also had a hand in the design and production of the Chrysler Voyager. The wheelchair-accessible Chrysler Pacifica gifted to Officer Christian Arrue and his family is a little more special, custom built. On The Kelly Clarkson Show, Jay Leno presented the family with the vehicle, and anyone who wants to see the happy family can visit the official The Kelly Clarkson Show YouTube channel to view the June 20, 2022, segment.
