All the New Features for the Chrysler Lineup
Wow, the Chrysler Pacifica minivan seems to get better every year, and for 2021, the list of new things is long. I mean, really long. There is just so much new stuff being packed into this family vehicle. Where do we even start? Maybe with the most obvious changes, the exterior.
New Look
All standard, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica comes with a new front fascia, grille, LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, a new LED rear tail lamp, and a new black Chrysler wing badge insert. There are also six new wheel designs with various finishes, ranging from 17-inch machined with Baltic Gray pockets to 20-inch polished with Baltic Gray pockets and Foreshadow. A new exterior paint has been added, Fathom Blue, possibly to celebrate the new trim, “Pinnacle” that comes with its own set of new additions: Platinum Chrome exterior trim/wheels, a suede headliner, quilted caramel Nappa leather seats, two quilted lumbar comfort pillows for second-row captain’s chairs, and satin chrome plated seat controls and sliding door handles.
New Tech
There is just so much tech being crammed into the Chrysler Pacifica minivan, and to think it comes standard with the newest Uconnect 5 system on a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Now that’s an upgrade, people. The first North American vehicle to feature new Uconnect 5 system, and the largest standard touchscreen in its class, the new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica offers more connected features than ever with the Uconnect skill that even brings the Alexa smart interface into the cabin that lets occupants control in-car functions and manage Alexa functions while on the road. Being a family minivan, we assume mostly just the parents will be driving, but the home screen can store up to six different user profiles with individual feature preferences for music, seat settings, comfort, and vehicle operation. New TomTom navigation has been added for getting around, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to keep drivers from texting no matter how far or close their phone is, plus wireless phone charging.
A new 10-inch rear quarter trim Harman Kardon subwoofer has been added to the sound system, and the fan-favorite Uconnect Theater rear-seat entertainment system has added several new games. A new FamCAM interior camera is available to keep eyes on rear passengers without craning your head and taking your eyes off the road. Speaking of safety, many advanced safety features are now standard, including Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, Lane Keep Assist, Rain-sensing wipers, and Auto high beams. A new Safety Sphere Package is optional, adding a 360-degree Surround View Camera, ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist, and Front Park Assist.
New for the Voyager
Although the Chrysler Voyager is basically the Pacifica with more accessibility features for the disabled and elderly, it now comes with a distinct front and rear exterior appearance, interior styling, and content. Added for 2021 is an optional SafetyTec Group that includes Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus. FCA’s new Gen 5 radar/forward camera/braking system, standard on SafetyTec Group-equipped vehicles, had also been added. Designed more for families with elder passengers, Uconnect didn’t receive as many upgrades and still comes with the previous generation, Uconnect 4 on a 7-inch touchscreen, but still offers all the great features it’s known for.
Additions to 2021 Chrysler 300
Yes, Chrysler still has a sedan. Uncanny, we know, because it’s almost never in the spotlight and has received very little in terms of upgrades or a refreshing look. The new additions also come in the form of safety with ParkSense front and rear park assist system, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection. All of these have been made standard on the 2021 300 Touring L and 300S trims. Although it used to be an optional package, features from the Red S Appearance Package are now standard on the 300 exterior, with a Gloss Black front fascia applique, Black Noise exterior badging, red insert on the Chrysler wing badge, Red “S” badge, and 20-inch Black Noise wheels.
There are also two new optional equipment packages available for the 2021 Chrysler 300 Touring L and 300S, the Comfort Group Package and Popular Equipment Package. The Comfort Group Package adds a lot of goodies, including auto-adjust-in-reverse driver’s mirrors, ventilated leather-trimmed seats, adaptive bi-xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps with automatic leveling system, driver and heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, power backlight sunshade, and a lot more. The Popular Equipment Package is kind of neat, too, adding a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, Uconnect 4C Navigation with 8.4-inch display, nine premium speakers with trunk-mounted subwoofer with 506-watt amplifier and surround sound system, and comes with five years of SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link service.
