Engine Types

The 2024 Ram 1500 lineup consists of eight trims – Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, TRX. The standard engine up to the Limited Longhorn is a 3.6-liter V6, optimized with eTorque, optimized with engine stop/start technology for better fuel efficiency, and able to generate 305 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Standard on the Limited is a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine, optimized with eTorque and a multi-displacement system and engine stop/start technology to conserve fuel economy. This powertrain is available for the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, and Limited Longhorn trims. This engine is able to generate 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The 1500 TRX of course is equipped with a 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMI® V8 SRT® engine, able to generate 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

Configuration

Known for growing customization, many trims are offered with a variety of cab sizes and bed lengths. For instance, the Tradesman can come with Crew Cab and a 5’7” or 6’4” bed length, but only a 6’4” bed length with a Quad Cab. This set is for the Tradesman and Big Horn trims, for a Crew Cab with a 5’7” or 6’4” bed length on the Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims. The Tradesman HFE can only come as a Quad Cab equipped with a 6’4” bed length, the Rebel and TRX come as a Crew Cab with a 5’7” bed length. Most of the trims offer a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain, but the Rebel and TRX are locked into a 4×4 drivetrain, whereas the Tradesman HFE is only available with a 4×2 drivetrain.

An 8-speed automatic transmission is the standard for all trims. Most trims have a fuel economy of 20/25 mpg city/highway except for the Rebel, Limited, and TRX trims. The Rebel has a fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city/24 mpg on the highway, the Limited gets 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, and the TXR delivers 10 mpg in the city and 14 mpg on the highway. The payload and towing capacity vary greatly, ranging from 1220 – 2320 pounds for the payload, and 6330 – 8190 pounds for the towing capacity.

Exterior Features

The 2024 Ram 1500 offers many standard features, such as heated exterior mirrors, automatic headlamps, acoustic front door glass, deep-tint sunscreen glass, and tinted-glass windows. An automatic-dimming driver mirror, exterior mirrors with memory and supplemental turn signals, and an LED package consisting of LED reflector lamps, and front LED fog lamps start on the Laramie trim. More features, such as a footwell-lighting, hitch lamp in headlamps and tail lamps, rain-sensitive windshield wipers, a roll-up tonneau cover by Mopar, and the option to add a RamBox Cargo Management System also become available. The standard wheel size is 18 inches, 20 inches for the Limited Longhorn and the Limited trim. Various trims can upgrade to 20-inch and 22-inch wheels.

Interior Features

The interior has an assortment of standard features, including a 4-way manually adjustable driver and front passenger seat. The Limited Longhorn upgrades to an 8-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats (available for Big Horn and Rebel trims). Also starting with the Limited Longhorn are heated front seats, second-row seats, and driver seat memory. The Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims front seats are ventilated (available for the Rebel and TRX trims). The Limited Longhorn and Limited trims add ventilated rear seats (available option for the TRX). Various trims have the option of adding a rear 60/40 split-folding seat, standard on the Rebel and TRX. A 40/20/40 split-bench is the standard on the Tradesman, Big Horn, and Laramie trims.

Seats are trimmed in heavy-duty vinyl for the Tradesman base trim, changing to cloth for the Tradesman HFE and Big Horn trims. The Laramie and up come with leather upholstery. Dual-zone automatic temperature control starts with the Laramie trim, plus a comfortable leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel. All trims past the Big Horn can opt-in for a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Warlock and 2024 Ram 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 Final Edition

The Warlock returns in 2024, adding more off-road capability to the 2024 Ram 1500. Equipped with enhanced features, the Warlock features an electronic rear-locking differential, skid plates, 1-inch raised ride height, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, and Bilstein front and rear performance tuned-shock absorbers. All of that straight from the factory.

Specifically for the 2024 model year, the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 Final Edition waves goodbye to the TRX, featuring beadlock-capable wheels, a 6.2-liter hood badge, and TRX bed decal donned in an exclusive Satin Titanium color. The paint colors available add Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue, and Harvest Sunrise to give consumers the chance to get the color they love for this final TRX model. The interior comes with Patina stitching on the dashboard and seats, an embroidered “TRX” seat back logo in Patina, a leather and carbon fiber flat-bottom steering wheel, carbon fiber accents on the driver’s cluster display, and suede door panel inserts. The Final Edition also features a unique cluster splash screen, a premium center console badge displaying the build number (that means it’s a limited-production model), and a passenger-side TRX dashboard badge.

Entertainment

The standard for the 2024 Ram 1500 is Uconnect 3 on a 5-inch touchscreen. The Laramie upgrades to Uconnect 5 with navigation on an 8.4-inch touchscreen, available for the Big Horn, A 12.0-inch touchscreen is standard on the Limited and TXR trims, an available upgrade for the Limited Longhorn. The Laramie and Rebel automatically come with Uconnect 5 NAV on an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Trims with Uconnect also include a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, HD Radio, and Bluetooth-integrated voice command.  A six-speaker sound system is the standard, upgrading to a nine-amplified-speaker system with a subwoofer starting with the Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX (available on the Big Horn), able to upgrade to a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system for the Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX trims.

Safety Features and Warranty

The 2024 Ram 1500 comes with all the basic standard safety features, such as advanced multistage front airbags, supplemental front-mounted and side-curtain airbags, traction and stability control systems, and trailer safety. A ParkView rear backup camera is standard. Advanced safety features, such as Full-speed forward-collision warning plus is standard on all trims past the Big Horn can add Lane Keep Assist, Parallel and Perpendicular Park-Assist with Stop and Go, a Surround-view camera system, Blind-Spot and Cross-Path Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, and ParkSense for the front and rear us Park-Assist with stop.

All Ram trucks are covered by a basic 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile diesel powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile gas powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for 5 years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through warranty for 5 years and unlimited miles. Coverage also includes free towing to the nearest Ram Truck dealer, if necessary, and coverage is transferable.
