Configuration

Ram Trucks are known for options, but when it comes to the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX, just one will do. Coming standard with a 4×4 drivetrain with a Crew Cab, the truck bed is a 5’7” box. Consumers can get some customization out of their drive, though, with five dynamic modes available – Auto, Sport, Tow, Snow, and Custom. This allows them to modify the vehicle’s performance for the four-wheel-drive system, throttle response, transmission, paddle shifters, suspension, and the electric power steering.

Engineering

Powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 engine, the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX is capable of generating up to 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s all transferred to the wheels via a high-torque-capacity TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Fast and capable, the TRX offers a new BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case with a low range of 2.64:1 for rock crawling, flat-towing, and a large ground clearance of 11.8 inches. This pickup truck is also able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and run a quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds.

Exterior Features

Many features come standard on the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX, including heated exterior mirrors with turn signals; an automatic-dimming exterior mirror; exterior courtesy lamps; automatic headlamps with high-beam control; twin bi-functional projector headlamps; LED tail lamps; , LED clearance lights built into the scoop; a unique front grille; LED footwell-lighting; an LED dome lamp; acoustic front door glass; deep-tint sunscreen glass; and a locking tailgate. Many features are also optional, such as exterior mirrors with memory; mirror clearance running lights; dual LED reading dome lamps; pickup box lighting; rain-sensitive windshield wipers; and more. The standard wheel size is 18-inches.

Interior Features

Inside, the standard cabin features include an 8-way power adjustable driver seat, a 4-way power adjustable lumbar support for the driver seat, 4-way manual adjustable front-passenger seat, bucket seats, a rear 60/40 folding bench, under-seat lighting, second-row storage bins, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and a Ram Clean Air system. Consumers can upgrade for more and add a 4-way power adjustable lumbar support for the passenger seat, 8-way power driver and passenger seating, driver-seat memory, heated front seats, heated second-row, a rear 60/40 split-folding and reclining seat, ventilated front and rear seats, and rear under-seat storage compartments. A leather-wrapped, flat-bottom steering wheel with carbon or suede is also available.

Entertainment

The top-of-the-line, of course the TRX comes with Uconnect 5 with Navigation on a 12-inch touchscreen display. Setup with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, HD Radio, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls, the standard sound system comes with nine amplified speakers and a subwoofer. Consumers can upgrade that to a 19 Harman Kardon premium sound system.

Safety Features and Warranty

The 2022 Ram TRX comes with all the same standard safety features as the 1500 model it’s based on, including basic standard safety features, such as advanced multistage front airbags, supplemental front-mounted and side-curtain airbags, traction and stability control systems, trailer safety, and a ParkView Rear Back-up Camera. Available advanced safety features include blind-spot Monitoring and cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus, ParkSense Front and Rear park-Assist with Stop, a surround-view camera system, and Lane Keep Assist.

All Ram trucks are covered by a basic 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile diesel powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile gas powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for 5 years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through warranty for 5 years and unlimited miles. Coverage also includes free towing to the nearest Ram Truck dealer, if necessary, and coverage is transferable.
