2020 Chrysler Pacifica Named Best Eco Pick and Award Winner by PARENTS Magazine
The world may be in a crazy place these days, but that doesn’t stop a little good news from walking around the corner. Automakers across the globe may be on pause for a time, but that just gives plenty of time for automotive publications and organizations to wrap up “Best of” lists and voting rounds for the next award. The latest award comes from PARENTS magazine, a publication geared towards advising parents on how to raise a healthy family, and that, of course, tends to dip its toes into which automobiles are safe and great on a budget. Did somebody say, “Chrysler minivan”?
Yes, of course, a Chrysler Pacifica minivan would win, but it’s not just a minivan. No, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid won the 2020 Best Family Cars Award from PARENTS Magazine out of twenty other competitors between parent-tested minivans, SUVs, and sedans that landed on Parents’ annual best cars list this year. To earn this award amongst the competition, a 2020 Best Family Cars award winner is determined via crash-test ratings, evaluation by a certified child passenger safety technician, and a test drive by an automotive expert to evaluate several features of the vehicle, such as braking, steering, technology, and more. This 2020 Best Family Cars Award from PARENTS is another addition to the 130-plus industry honors and accolades the Pacifica has received, making it the most awarded minivan four years in a row.
Because we’re talking about the Hybrid here, we should also note that the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid was also named PARENTS magazine “Best Eco Pick,” being the first and only hybrid minivan. It’s perfect for families who want all the kid-friendly technology, a safe vehicle, and get a little more bang for their buck by going green. The 2020 Pacifica Hybrid can deliver more than 80 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) when operating in electric-only mode, with an all-electric range of more than 30 miles. When operating on both, the engine and electric motor in tandem, consumers can expect a total range of more than 500 miles with regenerative braking. Consumers will find a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 making up the gasoline engine portion of the system, tied to an FCA-designed, innovative dual-motor eFlite electrically variable transmission (EVT) to send power to the wheels and seamlessly switch between electric and hybrid modes.
The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica has plenty of technology for families with the most advanced entertainment system with available Uconnect Theater, featuring two 10-inch seatback touchscreens and a variety of apps and games. Consumers can also stream videos through Uconnect with an available Wi-Fi connection for those long road trips. Speaking of, the Pacifica Hybrid is perfect for family road trips, with a seating capacity for up to seven passengers with second-row captain’s chairs and Stow ‘n Go seating in the third-row for more cargo space if need be. Keeping consumers and cargo protected, the Pacifica Hybrid offers more than 100 standard and available safety and security features, like a ParkView backup camera, 360-degree surround view camera system, blind spot monitoring and rear cross path detection, full speed warning with collision warning plus, and more.
