Trims and Engine

To keep things simple, there are only four trims that make up the 2019 Ram ProMaster City lineup. These are the Tradesman Cargo Van, Tradesman SLT Cargo Van, the Wagon, and the Wagon SLT. Every trim comes with a front-wheel drivetrain and a 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir I4 engine under the hood. Capable of generating a best-in-class horsepower of 178 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, the 2019 Ram ProMaster City has enough muscle to get tough jobs done.

Capabilities

The engine is optimized with variable valve timing (VVT) system for better performance and paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Together, the overall powertrain earns the ProMaster City a best-in-class highway fuel economy of 28 mpg. In addition to that, the 2019 Ram ProMaster City has a best-in-class payload of 1883 pounds and has a maximum towing capacity of 2000 pounds. Best-of just about everything so far.

Exterior Features

Here’s where consumers get choices. Although the ProMaster City hasn’t changed its style much in years, consumers still get plenty of standard features. These include drivers and passengers side-door and rear doors without glass, a 180-degree opening rear hinged door, remote keyless entry, and security panels for the sliding doors and rear doors. When it comes to getting upgrades, select trims have the option of doors and windows with vented glass or deep tint sunscreen glass, power heated exterior mirrors, adjustable roof rack crossbars, roof rack side rails, and a three bar utility roof rack.

All trims ride on 16-inch wheels, steel or aluminum. Some consumers may want to give their van some personal style, and they can do so with one of the following colors: Blue Nite Metallic, Deep Red, Black Metallic, Bright White, Silver Metallic, Earth Brown, and Quartz Grey Metallic. Custom paint jobs and decals come down to aftermarket retailers.

Interior Features

Looking to really change things up? Depending on the trim, consumers have a different interior. The Ram ProMaster City cargo van has seating for two people and a large maximum cargo capacity of 131.7 cubic-feet. The Ram ProMaster City wagon van has seating for five passengers and a maximum cargo capacity of 101.7 cubic-feet. Both versions come standard with a 60/40 fold and tumble rear seat, cloth upholstery, a cargo compartment, and a rearview day/night mirror.

For added convenience, some trims come with additional options, including front all-weather floor mats, a GPS antenna input for navigation, LED cargo area lighting, and two cargo packages that can make storage and organization easier. The standard setup for the 2019 Ram ProMaster City is a 4-speaker system with a 5-inch touchscreen display, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, a media hub, Uconnect 3, and steering wheel mounted audio controls.
