Back in 2016, we got a sneak peek at the upcoming Ram Power Wagon for the 2500 pickup truck. We also compared the Ram Power Wagon with the Ford Raptor and got some interesting results. Now that the Ram 2500 Power Wagon is out, it’s about time to take a look at the specs of this mighty beast of a Ram truck.
6.4L HD V8 HEMI
Max. Towing Capacity
Only one engine option powers the 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon. Under the hood of this beast is a 6.4-liter Heavy Duty V8 HEMI engine optimized with a Multi-displacement System (MDS) to help in conserving fuel when riding at steady speeds. The engine can generate up to 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. It is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift-on-the-fly transfer case.
Towing and Payload
Due to the 429 lb-ft of torque being delivered, the 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon has a standard payload capacity of 1,444 pounds. The standard and maximum towing capacity is set at 9,790 pounds. If consumers wish to go higher, when properly equipped, the 2018 Ram 2500 can tow up to 16,320 pounds.
Built for hard work and going off-road, the 2018 Ram Power Wagon has an assortment of different features. The main standard features consist of automatic headlamps with optional automatic high beams, heated exterior mirrors, an electric winch, and a truck bed. A lot of customization options come with the Power Wagon.
