There are five trims that make up the 2018 Chrysler 300 lineup – Touring, Touring Plus, 300S, Limited, and 300C. All but the 300C are powered by the popular 292 hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, optimized with variable valve timing (VVT) technology for superb performance. The Chrysler 300C is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI optimized with VVT and a multi-displacement system (MDS) to conserve fuel economy when riding at steady speeds. This engine is able to generate 363 horsepower, the best in its class. This HEMI is also an option for the 300S trim.
Driving and Handling
No matter the engine, all 2018 Chrysler 300 trims are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Therefore, aside from the 300C, all of the trims in the lineup have the same fuel economy – 19 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. The 300C has a fuel economy of 16/25 mpg city/highway.
Known for its bold exterior and aggressive style, the Chrysler 300 has always had a signature look to it. When it comes to its exterior features, many are shared across the lineup. Standard on the 2018 Chrysler 300 are automatic headlamps, Bi-Function halogen projector headlamps, chrome LED tail lamps, heated exterior mirrors, and solar control glass. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof is available on all trims but the base (Touring). Depending on the trim, the 2018 Chrysler 300 can ride on 17-, 18-, 19-, or 20-inch aluminum wheels, available in various designs. Consumers may have up to seven colors to choose from for the paint job.
Unlike the exterior, features are sprinkled throughout the lineup of the 2018 Chrysler 300, depending on the trim. Standard features include a rear 60/40 folding seat, dual-zone automatic air conditioning control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an 8-way power adjustable drivers seat (for the base trim). Select trims may offer leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front-row seats, heated second-row seats, a cargo net, a backlight sunshade, an auto-dimming exterior mirror, and a heated and leather wrapped steering wheel. Various colors may be available depending on the trim, such as deep mocha, black, or a color combination of black/smoke, black/linen, or indigo/linen.
When it comes to entertainment, the entire 2018 Chrysler 300 lineup comes with Uconnect 4C on an 8.4-inch touchscreen with steering wheel mounted audio controls, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, HD Radio, Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities, and a six-speaker system. Select trims can get a six premium speaker system, and only the 300S can upgrade to a Beats Audio ten premium speaker system with subwoofer. Upgrading to Uconnect 4C with navigation is available on all trims but the base.
Safety Features and Warranty
Many standard safety features can be found throughout the 2018 Chrysler 300 lineup, and several advanced automatic safety features are available. Standard throughout the lineup are advanced multistage front airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, supplemental front seat-mounted and side-curtain front and rear airbags, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, stability and traction control systems, Keyless Go, a ParkView rear backup camera, remote proximity keyless entry, and a Sentry Key theft deterrent system. Available advanced safety features consist of blind spot and cross path detection, full speed forward collision warning plus, lane departure warning plus, and a remote start system.
