2017 Chrysler 300 Specs
Chrysler has been making some changes to their lineup in the last year. They discontinued the Chrysler Town & Country and replaced it with the award-winning Chrysler Pacifica. In the same year, they added the Pacifica Hybrid and announced they would discontinue the Chrysler 200. Well, that means the Chrysler 300 is the only sedan Chrysler is focusing on, and they are sure giving it a lot of attention. What makes the Chrysler 300 so special? Take a look.

Standard on the Chrysler 300 is the popular and award-winning 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine with variable valve timing (VVT) technology. VVT is a process of altering the intake/exhaust valves for air and fuel, which optimizes vehicle performance and fuel efficiency. This engine is capable of generating 292 horsepower and provides the 300 with a fuel economy of 19/30 mpg city/highway. It’s the standard engine for the entire lineup, but there is another option available for more power. A 5.7-liter V8 HEMI MDS engine with VVT is a pretty tempting engine upgrade. This engine generates 363 horsepower and has a Multi-Displacement System (MDS), which increases fuel economy by shutting off half of the cylinders when traveling at a steady speed.
Driving and Handling
Although limiting engine options, all-wheel drive (AWD) is available on the Chrysler 300. AWD vehicles tend to have a percentage of traction flowing to both axles, be it a ratio of 50/50 or 60/40. The drivetrain itself may also be part-time or full-time; most we see are part-time. With the Chrysler 300, even with AWD, the default drivetrain is RWD, seamlessly engaging the AWD drivetrain based on the road and driving conditions. Regardless of the engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission handles the gears.
Automatic headlamps are a nice standard feature on the 2017 Chrysler 300, but for lights that really shine, drivers will want to look at the high-end trims for Bi-Xenon HID headlamps. LED fog lamps are a lineup standard as is solar control glass and power heated exterior mirrors.
The major differences in the upper level trims are power exterior mirrors, design touches, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. The option to have a sunroof installed is available on trims, though. Styling choices include 18-inch, 19-inch and 20-inch wheels of different make and design, and up to eight body paint colors.
Standard interior features on all trims include heated front seats and leather trim seats — wait, heated leather seats are standard? Yeah, now we know why the Chrysler 300 is here to stay. Heated second-row seats are also standard on the 300C and 300C Platinum, optional on all other trims sans the Limited trim. Another lineup standard is a 60/40 rear folding seat for changing up seating arrangements or opening up cargo space from the trunk. On select trims, ventilated front seats are standard or optional.
There are a number of convenience features available on all of the 2017 Chrysler 300 trims. Standard across the lineup is dual-zone automatic A/C and a leather-wrapped steering wheel; the steering wheel is heated on upper-level trims. To help keep cargo organized, a cargo net is another lineup standard, along with an instrument panel.
Standard on the 2017 Chrysler 300 is an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 6-speaker system. The 300S, is equipped with a Beats Audio 10 premium speaker system that includes a subwoofer. The 300C Platinum has a state-of-the-art 19-speaker Harmon Kardon system with a subwoofer. All 300 trims compatible with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto.
Integrated voice command with Bluetooth is a lineup standard, and so is Uconnect 8.4. Uconnect 8.4 with Navigation is optional on most trims, and it is standard on the 300C and 300C Platinum. For convenience on the road, audio controls have been integrated into the steering wheel.
