All are powered by a 2.0L I4 DOHC turbo PHEV engine able to generate 375 horsepower and a Best-in-Class torque of 470 lb-ft. Power is transmitted through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The base Grand Cherokee 4xe and Anniversary Edition have a towing capacity of 3500 pounds, and the rest of the lineup can tow up to 6000 pounds.
4×4 Systems
The Grand Cherokee 4xe is not without its off-road prowess. Equipped with Quadra-Trac IIĀ®, the Grand Cherokee 4xe comes with a two-speed transfer case that helps to keep traction when a wheel or two lose grip. Quadra-DriveĀ® II is also available, featuring a rear Electronic Limited Slip Differential that engages 4×4 driving, and can transfer up to 100 percent of available torque to a single rear wheel in some situations. Even with a battery, the vehicle can still travel through up to 24 inches of water. A true adventure vehicle, as always.
