The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee expands its lineup with a total of nine trims ā Laredo A, Laredo, Laredo X, Altitude, Altitude X, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The last three trims are locked into a 4×4 drivetrain, but the rest of the lineup can come with a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain. Under the hood is a 3.6-liter PentastarĀ® V6 engine, optimized with variable valve timing (VVT) and electronic stop-start (ESS) for fuel economy, able to generate 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine offers a total towing capacity of 6200 pounds. Most of the lineup can upgrade to a 5.7-liter HEMIĀ® V8 engine, able to generate 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. This engine offers a total towing capacity of 7200 pounds.
Driving and Handling
All trims come with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine delivers 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. If you upgrade to the HEMI, the fuel economy is 14/22 mpg city/highway.

Exterior Features
With a more expansive lineup, Jeep spreads around an assortment of standard features, such as heated exterior mirrors, automatic headlamps, LED lighting (center, high-mounted stop lamp, front footwell, reflector headlamps and tail lamps), acoustic laminated front door and rear glass, an acoustic windshield, deep-tint privacy glass, and bright roof rails. Past the Attitude, those mirrors come with memory and supplemental signals, and automatic high-beam headlamp control and rain-sensitive windshield wipers become available. Past the Limited, bi-function LED premium reflector headlamps and front corner LED lamps, rain-sensitive windshield wipers are added.
Only the Cherokee Summit and Summit Reserve come with laminated rear glass. The roof rails become black after the Limited trim. A power liftgate is available for the Laredo and Laredo X, standard on the rest of the lineup. The standard wheel size is 17-inches, followed by 18-inches starting on the Laredo X trim, and 20-inches starting on the Overland trim.
Interior Features
Cloth upholstery is standard on the first three trims, followed by a Capri leatherette and suede combination starting on the Altitude, Nappa leather starting on the Overland, and Palermo on the Summit Reserve trim. Surprisingly, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat is standard, only bested by a 12- way power-adjustable driver seat in the Summit and Summit Reserve trims. A rear 60/40 split bench seat is a lineup standard, and heated front seats are standard after the base trim. A driverās seat memory system and heated second-row seats are added starting on the Limited trim, and past the Limited trim, ventilated front seats become standard, with ventilated second-row seats reserved for the Summit Reserve trim.
Dual-zone automatic climate control is a lineup standard, replaced with a 4-zone system in the Summit and Summit Reserve trims. Ambient LED lighting is only found in the Limited trim. A power sunroof is standard on the Laredo X and Altitude X. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof becomes available starting on the Limited trim.

Uconnect 5 is standard in the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The difference is an 8.4-inch touchscreen display up until the Altitude trim, replaced with a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation on the rest of the lineup. This means all trims come with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capability, integrated voice command, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Jeep Connected services (trial), a trial for SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and a 4G LTE Wi-FI hotspot trial. A front passenger interactive display becomes available starting on the Overland trim.
A six-speaker sound system is standard, with a premium six-speaker sound system on the Limited trim and able to upgrade to an amplified 9-speaker sound system with a subwoofer. The latter is standard in the Overland and Summit. Both of these can upgrade to a 19-speaker high-performance sound system, standard in the Summit Reserve trim.
Safety Features and Warranty
Standard features in the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee consist of an advanced multistage front airbag system with supplemental airbags all around the cabin, stability and traction control systems, an enhanced accident response system, and a LATCH-ready child seat anchor system. Standard advanced safety features include adaptive cruise control with stop & go, blind-spot and cross-path detection, full-speed forward-collision warning plus, a ParkSenseĀ® rear park-assist with stop system, and a ParkViewĀ®rear back-up camera. A ParkSenseĀ® front and rear park-assist with stop system, surround-view camera system, active driving system, hands-free driving, and night vision with pedestrian and animal detection become available starting on the Limited trim. The Summit and Summit Reserve add drowsy driver detection, parallel and perpendicular park-assist with stop, and a side distance warning system.
