When Wagoneer first came out, many thought of it as another addition to the Jeep lineup, but the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer should be viewed as a beast of their own. The luxury lineup for the off-road automaker, these SUVs are made for a different demographic looking for more upscale features versus off-road details, although the capability is still there. Engine Types
For 2023, the Wagoneer has four trims ā Wagoneer, Series II, Carbide, and Series III. New for 2023, a new Hurricane twin turbo engine with start/stop technology is standard on all trims past the base Wagoneer trim. This engine is capable of generating 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. The base trim is equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 engine, rated at 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup.
4×4 Driving
A Trac-Lok anti-spin rear differential is standard, as is an electronic rear limited-slip differential to keep traction and stability at all times, even when one wheel loses its grip. A 4×4 drivetrain adds the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management system, a crawl ratio of 48:1, and up to 24 inches of water fording. Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II with active low range and rear electronic limited slip differential is available on select trims. Past the base trim, Quadra-Lift air suspension becomes available on a 4×4 drivetrain. Fuel economy sees minor changes depending on the drivetrain, The 2023 Wagoneer has a combined fuel economy of 19 mpg with 4×2 and 17.5 mpg with 4×4. The rest of the lineup has a combined fuel economy of 20.5 mpg with 4×2 and 19.5 mpg with 4×4.

Exterior Features
Standard features across the lineup include heated exterior mirrors with memory, auto-dimming, and auto adjust-in-reverse capability; automatic LED headlamps; LED tail lamps; LED CHMSL lamps, LED 5-reflector fog lamps with cornering; illuminated entry; a rear window wiper; acoustic windshield; acoustic laminated front door glass; laminated rear-glass; deep=tint sunscreen glass; and a roof rack. Past the base trim, consumers also get ambient LED interior lighting and rain-sensitive windshield wipers (both available add-ons for the base Wagoneer trim). 18-inch wheels are the standard for the base trim, 29-inch on the rest of the lineup in various designs.
Available for the Series II only is the Carbide package. This adds black exterior accents and interior accents, a panoramic tri-pane sunroof, adjustable roof rail crossbars, cargo cover, reversible cargo mat, and 20-inch Gloss Black painted wheels. Consumers can also upgrade to 22-inch polished wheels with black inserts.
Interior Features
For the upscale luxury feel, Capri leather-trimmed seats are the standard for the base, Nappa leather upholstery on the rest of the lineup. Standard features include an 8-way power adjustable driver seat with 4-way power lumbar control, 4-way front headrests, driver seat memory, 4-way passenger lumbar support, a third-row 60/40 seat bench, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster display, heated and ventilated front seats, triple-zone automatic air conditioning, rear-seat heat-ducts, and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. Past the base, trims can opt in for second row bucket seats and a power third-row 60/40 split bench. A tri-pane panoramic sunroof is standard on the Series II with Carbide ā otherwise, itās an add-on for all trims.

Going with the absolute best setup, Uconnect 5 with navigation on a 10.1-inch touch screen display is the lineup standard, offering Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capabilities, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot trial, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, Amazon Alexa smart speaker built in (Wi-Fi required), integrated voice command, and an Alpine 9-speaker system with a subwoofer as the lineup standard. A McIntosh MX050 entertainment system with 19 speakers is available on the Series III trim. Amazon Fire built-in is an option consumers can upgrade to.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2023 Wagoneer comes with basic safety features such as an advanced multistage front airbag system with supplemental airbags all around the cabin, stability and traction control systems, an enhanced accident response system, a Sentry Key theft deterrent system, a ParkView rear backup camera, and a LATCH-ready child seat anchor systems. Across the lineup, many advanced safety features are also available ā blind-spot and rear cross-path detection (standard), full-speed forward-collision warning plus (standard), a 360-degree surround view camera system, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and parallel and perpendicular Park-Assist with stop.
All Wagoneer vehicles are covered by a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year or 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through coverage for five years or 100,000 miles.
