Made up of four trims – Willys 4xe, Sahara 4xe, Rubicon 4xe, and High Altitude 4xe – all the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 2.0-liter I4 DOHC DI Turbo PHEV engine, able to generate 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Able to offer a combined fuel economy of 49 MPGe, this plug-in hybrid has a total driving range of 370. With a battery powering electric motors, consumers can use three different modes of driving to maximize their range. Recharging is easy, able to be plugged into a Level 1 or Level 2 charger to recharge in 12 or two hours, respectively.
With all that power transferred through an 8-speed automatic transmission, the Wrangler 4xe is just as capable as its counterpart. A 2:72:1 Selec-Trac Full-time 4WD system comes standard. The Rubicon trades this out for a 4:1 Tock-Trac Heavy-Duty Full-time 4WD system.
Standard features of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe include power-hearted exterior mirrors (with turn signals on the High Altitude trim), automatic headlamps, front LED fog lamps, and LED premium reflector headlamps (plus halogen headlamps on the Willys 4xe); deep-tint sunscreen windows and tinted windshield glass; and side steps on everything past the Willys 4xe. LED tail lamps are available on the Willys 4xe, standard on the rest of the lineup. Customizable like the original Wrangler, consumers can get a doors-off mirror kit by Mopar, half doors with or without uppers, dual doors, remove the windshield, and a choice of different tops (standard Black Sunrider sot top on all trims but the High Altitude, standard 3-piece hard top). There are the Sunrider soft top, hard top, dual-top, sunbonnet, and no soft top options. The Wrangler 4xe WIllys 4xe and Rubicon 4xe trims ride on 17-inch wheels, but the Sahara and High Altitude trims ride on 20-inch wheels.
The upholstery greatly varies in the interior cabin, with cloth bucket seats in the Willys 4xe, premium McKinley-trimmed seats in the Sahara 4xe, premium cloth bucket seats in the Rubicon 4xe, and only leather upholstery for the High Altitude 4xe. Standard features include a 6-way manual adjustable driver seat with 2-way manual lumbar adjustment, low-back bucket seats, a 60/40 folding rear bench, automatic a/c and temperature control, and steering-wheel mounted audio controls. Options for more leather-trimming, like the shift knob, brake lever, and steering wheel are available add-ons. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are lineup available options.
Uconnect 4 on a 7-inch display is only standard on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe trim. The rest of the lineup comes standard with Uconnect 4C with navigation on an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Regardless, all trims come with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capabilities, integrated voice command, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspotꝉ, HD Radioꝉ, and an Alpine premium audio system.
