Engine Type

For 2023, there Jeep Renegade lineup is made up of the Latitude, Trailhawk, and Limited trim. All three seem to only be available with a 4×4 drivetrain this year. The lineup could technically be expanded if counting the Latitude with the Altitude Package, Latitude (RED) Edition, and the Limited with the High Altitude Package. Regardless, all trims are 1.3-liter I4 turbocharged MAir engine with electric start-stop (ESS), capable of generating a total of 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. All engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Driving and Handling

The fuel economy offered is the same across the lineup – 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Because all trims are locked into a 4×4 drivetrain, they all come with Jeep’s Select-Terrain Traction Management System, able to change the settings for driving on snow, sand, or mud. The Trailhawk also gets a Rock selection for rock-crawling.
