2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
As the Chrysler Pacifica continues to live, so shall its plug-in hybrid variant, the Pacifica Hybrid minivan. Going on into 2021, the lineup has been reduced a bit, but that just means more oomph for the remaining models. See what the Pacifica Hybrid can offer you.
Only four trims make up the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, consisting of the Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle. All trims come with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery powering an electric motor. With regenerative braking consumers can get a miles-per-gallon equivalent for a hybrid vehicle at 84 MPGe, more or less. With the ability to drive solo on electricity for 33 miles before recharging the battery, this minivan can travel up to 566 mikes with a full tank and 100-percent battery. With the power directed through an eFlite Si-EVT Transmission system, the drive is smooth.
Like all plug-in hybrid vehicles, the Chrysler Pacifica doesn’t require a charging station if only gas stations are around, but it’s nice to get some extra distance, especially in quiet areas. There are three methods for charging – the standard 120-volt outlet is the most simple, able to plug-in to the same outlet a typical electrical appliance can use. For faster charging, an available 240-volt Level II charger can be installed in one’s home. Lastly, there are public charging stations, most of which will charge a hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) to 80-percent in a half hour.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid isn’t as shiny on the outside compared to its gasoline counterpart. Aside from splash guards, nothing really stands out. The Touring and Touring L come with 17-inch wheels whereas the Limited and Pinnacle come with 18-inch wheels.
Like the exterior, many of the bells and whistles disappear in terms of interior features. Not even Stow ‘n Go seating comes with the Hybrid model due to the placement of the battery. Aside from leather seats on all trims but the base (Touring), much of the goods come down to technology.
Here is where the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid shines, setup with pretty much the same as the Pacifica. It all starts with Uconnect 5 on a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, followed by a six-speaker system, Blue-Ray/DVD player system, seatback video screens, and wireless headphones. Uconnect Navigation, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, steering wheel mounted controls, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, connected travel and traffic services, HD radio, voice command with Bluetooth, and a FamCam interior camera can be found in all trims but the base. For an upgraded sound system, a 13 Alpine speaker system comes standard on the Touring L, and a 20 Harman Kardon speaker system is available on the Limited and Pinnacle trims.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid comes with simple safety features, including an advanced multistage front airbags system, a driver’s knee airbag and a passengers knee airbag, supplemental front seat mounted side and side-curtain airbags. ParkSense rear and front park assist with stop, a sliding door alert warning, a LATCH-ready child seat anchor system, an occupant classification system, a 360-degree view camera system, and parallel and perpendicular park assist with stop can all be found on trims past the base.
